STRUCTURED / CABLING

Structured cabling is building a telecommunications cabling infrastructure that consists of a number of standardized smaller elements called subsystems.

Telknology is a company that provides a comprehensive range of cabling services from installation to documentation. Our team of Bicsi certified techs, project managers and consultants work with customers to install the highest quality products and performance within the data center, including clean out and professional dressing of all cable labeled for proper use.

  • FIBER The use of fiber optic cables in multi-mode or single-mode, provides a route for information to be carried via light that reflects off of glass or plastic wire. These cables are used to submit information for phone systems, internet communication and other systems.

  • VOICE A telephone interface installed at the customer’s premises converts analog signals from the customer’s in-home wiring to a digital signal, which is then sent over the cable connection to the company’s switching center.

  • DISTRIBUTED COAX  A type of cable that is shielded or has a jacket that surrounds an inner conductor used for radio frequency transmission. This can be used for cable television signals, internet and digital audio.

  • CAT 5E, CAT 6, CAT 7 These type of cables are used in structured cabling for networks using ethernet. The differences are based on speed and distance. The higher the number represents the better performance. Each cable has optimal use for different areas based on distance.

  • DATA CENTER A large group of networked computer servers typically used by organizations for the remote storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data.

  • IDF CLEAN OUT Keeping the closet clean from dust and debris that can hinder system processes by overheating or access to cables

  • WIRELESS Networks that are not connected by cables. Wireless network avoids the use of cables connecting to equipment locations. This process is less expensive and provides a faster connection.

  • INTERCOM  A voice communication system used inside a building that stands independently of the common telephone network. This system can be used with video as well as audio based on digital connections and installed with cat 5 cable.
